No matter how many times I shoot a wedding at The Brdo Estate, its sheer beauty, and elegance never cease to amaze me. The huge 1235 acre estate consists of Brdo Castle, Brdo Park, Brdo Hotel and Brdo Golf Club.

Brdo Park: Breathtaking Brdo Park is home to Brdo’s world-famous Lipizzaner horses, deer, a dazzling array of birds, marine wildlife, picturesque trails, pretty bridges, and eleven tranquil lakes. Dating back to the fifteenth century, The Brdo Estate is an exquisite former aristocratic home that is over 500 years old. Built in 1446, this stately home was the original residence of the distinguished Noble Knights of the Egkh. Over the next 500 years, Brdo’s famous owners have included Michaelangelo Zois and Ivan Josip.

Today, Brdo is still the first choice for state celebrations, the estate is managed by the government and has played host to all the greats of Europe, including Queen Elizabeth II, George W. Bush, and Pope John Paul II. The Brdo Estate is conveniently located for Ljubljana International Airport, Jose Pucnik Airport, Ljubljana city center, and Lake Bled, which are all between 15 and 30 minutes away.
